The Center for Book Arts is pleased to present an exhibition of artists books created by students and faculty of the London College of Printing. This exhibition includes contemporary interpretations of traditional binding techniques such as wooden board covers, Islamic bindings, Coptic, Japanese, vellum, leather and design bindings. The London College of Printing & Distributive Trades is one of five colleges that make up the London Institute in England. Since 1986, the College has been teaching bookmaking courses in artists' books and one-of-a-kind books, fine printing, binding and publishing. Participating artists include Terence Buckley and Mike Brunwin, instructors of the College whose works include medieval, traditional, and design bindings; as well as Nick Cowlishaw, Howard Milrose, Ayshea Dolan, James Yardley, Alexandra Bruce, David Burgess, Paul Turner, Susan Crossley, Robert Lambert, Tracey Cloutier, Marta Belzuz, John Croft, Maria Hernandez, Rachael Hazel, Nissa Hossack, Diane Young, Don Lowe, Daphne Plessner, Anna Ashford, Christine Storey, Peter Spain, Veronica Lam, Jackie Bradshaw-Price, Rebecca De'ath, Vassiliki Vlachou, Maria Fernandes, and Randel Wilbraham-Baker, students of the Higher National Diploma in Design Bookbinding.
