Umberto Boccioni, Pittura Scultura Futuriste. Dinamismo Plastico (Futurist Painting and Sculpture. Plastic dynamism), 1914

Despite its graphically plain cover, this book is, for its contents, one of the most important works on Futurist theory. In fact, this is the only theoretical book written by Boccioni (he died two years later, in 1916) and is essential for all generations of Futurists. Here we find, together with a richness of theories and illustrations, the basics of Futurist painting and sculpture. Compared to the dry format of the manifestos as originally published in 1909, Boccioni's writings are here revised and augmented, offering both a strong focus on Futurism and also its first historicization.
