Bio
Ida Marx grew up in New York City. She holds a BFA from the School of Visual Arts in New York. She has also studied at the Art Students League and Pratt Institute.
As an illustrator and comic artist, Ida has had work published in various publications, including the New Yorker magazine, Simon & Schuster, and Grolier publications. She now concentrates exclusively on oil painting.
Ida has also lived in Santa Fe, New Mexico, Washington DC, and Woodstock, NY. She recently returned to New York City, where she focuses on painting cityscapes and townhouse portraits.
Ida's work has been exhibited in the Newburgh Historical Society, the Woodstock Artists Association and Museum, Bank of America in Woodstock, NY, the Emily Hoysradt Gallery in Kingston, NY, the Master Eagle Gallery, the SVA Gallery in New York City, and a group exhibition, Portraits of Famous Women Eating Breakfast, which originated in Germany and toured in various cities throughout Europe.
