Bio

After graduating from Oberlin College, I began showing my work in Washington, D.C. where I had a 1-woman show and numerous group shows at the seminal D.C. gallery, Henri Gallery.  In 1986 my landscape paintings were included in “New Directions” at the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden.    

When I move to New York City, my work was represented by Ellen Sragow Gallery on the Lower East Side where I had two solo shows, one of which was reviewed in the NY Times.  I was then showing on W 57thStreet at the Schmidt Bingham Gallery for 5 years where I had 1 solo exhibition and participated in numerous group shows.   Then moved on to Art 101 in Williamsburg, Brooklyn where I had two 1-woman exhibitions and was part of numerous group shows.   My work is included in such corporate collections as AT&T and Exon Mobil.   

Artists Statement

My work has always been a combination of nature and abstraction. My recent paintings convey a living, organic abstraction. They refer to both the dynamic microcosm of nature in cells and molecules along with the macrocosm of the oceans, planets and the universe.. It’s what I call “otherworldly abstraction.” My work has been shown in New York, Washington, D.C. and Connecticut and is part of such major corporate collections as Met Life, AT&T and Exxon Mobil.
