Limited Edition Books, Etchings, Colour Lithographs, Gelatin Silver Photographic Prints Photographic Portfolios By K.N. Chaudhuri

A collaborative venture between Professor K.N. Chaudhuri, historian, author, and artist, Officina Bodoni/Stamperia Valdonega, Fine Letterpress Printers in Verona, and Giulio Giannini, Handbinders in Florence.

K.N. Chaudhuri has produced under the imprint of Schifanoia a series of combined photo-texts and images which attempt to express through linguistic sign and visual means a distinctive interpretation of landscape. The research techniques of history and critical analysis are used not only to select the sites and landscape locations but also to convey a sense of their importance and significance. The unique printing techniques developed at the Stamperia Valdonega, one of the greatest printing houses in the world, provide a quality of book production and reproduction quality that are increasingly difficult to obtain in a world governed by cost considerations. Likewise, the skills of Giulio Giannini, Florentine family of book binders since the 18th century, have turned the limited-edition books into objects of rare beauty.
