Mimi Gross is an artist who defies conventional categorization. She's a painter, sculptor, installation artist, public artist, set and costume designer, book-artist, and a collaborator. She's a life-long student of anatomy and has a close relationship with art history, in particular, the Renaissance masters. Mimi Gross, daughter of modernist sculptor Chaim Gross, has been actively engaged in the New York and international art world since she was a child. Her forceful creative drive and active studio process has generated innumerable works across all disciplines. The themes and imagery in her work range from Circus-spectacle to intimate portraiture to pressing current events.
